Our structural practice includes analysis and design capabilities in the use of fiber reinforced polymers (FRP). FRP rehabilitation is a cost-effective, state-of-the-art technology in the repair and strengthening of structures. FRP retrofit techniques can be appropriate for concrete, timber and masonry structures. Typical applications include concrete column and timber pile wrapping, FRP Rebar in marine and bridge structures and strengthening of structural members by attaching FRP sheets. MacDonnell is a continuous supporter of research in this area carried out by ISIS Canada and is one of the few companies to offer technical design services in this field.
